What’s the catch with seeing my website for free?
There isn’t one. I build it before our 20-minute call so you can see what you’d be buying. If you don’t want it, you owe nothing.
Do I own my website and domain?
Yes, from your first payment. The website is yours and the domain is in your name.
Can I leave, and is there an exit fee?
There’s no exit fee. Website and Google care have a 12-month minimum; leave early and the remaining care fees are due. After that, a month’s notice. Your website comes with you once everything owed is paid.
Why is there a twelve-month minimum?
To spread the cost of building and caring for your website, with no setup fee. Leave early and the remaining care fees are due. After twelve months, care runs monthly with a month’s notice.
Can I update my pub’s website myself?
Use Compass, or text, WhatsApp or email me. Ordinary website changes are included and done within 24 hours.
Will a new website put my pub first on Google?
Not by itself. Nobody can guarantee first place. I work on the things that help people find your pub; Google decides where you appear.
What if you get hit by a bus?
It’s me, one person. Your website is plain files on Cloudflare, backed up off-site every week, and you own it. It doesn’t need me to stay up.
Is a Facebook page enough, or does my pub need a website?
Facebook is useful for people who already follow you. Your own website gives everyone one place to find your menu, opening hours, directions and contact details.
Does my website need a cookie banner?
Your standard website uses Fathom’s cookie-free visit counting, so it doesn’t need a banner for that. Visitors can switch counting off. Added tools are checked separately.
